Background

Kirsten provides classroom and field training in grassroots organizing and advocacy skills to Green Corps trainees. She has also been instrumental in developing Green Corps’ donor program, conducting individual meetings with Green Corps members across the country. She has led teams of Green Corps organizers to stop mercury pollution from chlorine plants; launch Corporate Accountability International’s Think Outside the Bottle Campaign; and pressure ChemLawn, the nation’s largest lawncare pesticide applicator, to use organic alternatives. Prior to taking on her current role with Green Corps, Kirsten was the Canvass Director for Environment North Carolina, where she focused on training and staff development. Kirsten received a degree in Environmental Science from North Carolina State University and graduated from Green Corps’ Field School for Environmental Organizing in 2004.
