Reforming the World's Largest Banks
When Rainforest Action Network needed an organizer to lead their campaign to force the world’s largest banks to adopt environmentally sustainable policies, they sought out a Green Corps graduate. After graduating from Green Corps in 2002, Dan joined the staff at Rainforest Action Network and began working to redirect the global economy toward environmentally sustainable and socially just practices. Using the skills he learned from Green Corps, Dan effectively organized a national network of activists that generated enough grassroots pressure to convince America’s three largest banks to adopt landmark pro-environment policies. After years of grassroots activism and campaigning by countless volunteers, Citigroup, Bank of America, and JPMorgan Chase have all adopted policies that are supposed to safeguard old growth and endangered forests, curb investments in climate change, and protect the rights of indigenous peoples. |
Campaign Victories
“If we are committed to protecting the environment, we must organize people to build power for environmental protection. No organization does that better than Green Corps. Green Corps trains some of the best organizers in the environmental movement and builds real grassroots organizing power in their campaign work.” - Bob Bingaman, National Field Director, Sierra Club Click here for more Green Corps campaign testimonials. |
