Profile: Blair Bowie

Blair Bowie is from Washington DC. Growing up in the nation's capital, Blair saw first hand the best and the worst of American politics, and witnessed some of her parent's frustrations with bad government decision making.

At Middlebury College, in Vermont, Blair majored in philosophy and pursued her passions with studies in ethics, justice and morality. She was also the captain and goalie for the Middlebury Lacrosse team.

Blair wanted to take on more though, and make a bigger impact when she graduated from school. Mostly she wanted to be one of the people that get’s things done, rather than just complains about it, and so she joined Green Corps.

Currently, Blair is doing just that. She is in Eugene,OR working on Food & Water Watch’s Fair Fish Campaign to educate the public and activate community members about fair and sustainable fishing practices.

"Green Corps has been an incredible learning experience.  In just one year, I have gained important leadership skills, hands-on experience in the field, and a long-term vision for environmental change."

- Rachael Goodyer, Green Corps Class of 2008
