Emily
graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Sociology and a
desire to create change. Through an internship with Public Citizen’s
Global Trade Watch, Emily worked with Green Corps graduate David Edeli
(Class of 2001), who encouraged her to launch her environmental career
with Green Corps. Working with David, Emily learned some skills in
organizing and was able to put them to use by building a coalition of
more than 50 organizations opposed to fast-track trade negotiation.Emily had also served as a field manager in a citizen outreach office, where she helped recruit, train, and mange dozens of staff to raise awareness and money for Sierra Club. In this role, she was one of the most successful fundraisers in the country. With Green Corps classroom training under her belt, Emily is now working in Biloxi, Mississippi to build public support for protecting fisheries with U.S. PIRG.
